The Philodendron Squamiferum has a beautiful and unique form. She is somewhat similar in appearance to some of her others like the Monstera deliciosa and the Philodendron Bipennifolium and Pedatum. She is indeed a rare find!
Plant Size
Small: 3.5 - 4 inch standard nursery pot.
Light
She thrives well in bright, indirect light. Too little light will lead to a lack of new growth and can also cause problems with root rot if the soil stays wet for too long.
Water
Water when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. She does not like constantly moist soil and she is sensitive to overwatering.
Plant Specific Care
Choose a pot with drainage holes to avoid the roots from rotting. Use soil that drains well. Keep humidity medium-high, the temperature between 60°F and 84°F (16°C – 29°C), fertilize once a month and prune the stem to encourage growth.
