Asian Pitcher Plants, sometimes referred to as "monkey cups" or "monkey jars" are primarily native to parts of Southeast Asia, Madagascar, and Australia.Â
They have pitfall traps that are filled with digestive juices. The pitfall traps form from a leaf and can take months to mature. Even though the trap doesn’t move to capture the prey, it produces nectar, which lures insects such as ants and wasps.
